Margot Uson

Margot Uson is a human resources consultant with over 20 years experience. Her career in industry has been at the management and executive levels, where she was responsible for Canadian as well as international HR activities in large, multinational organizations. She has participated in international task forces for the creation of global HR policy and strategy, and in the design and implementation of HR systems and processes. Margot has managed the HR side of mergers, plant closures and business consolidations. As well, she has designed and implemented performance management systems, recruitment strategies, employee communications programs, management coaching, development and succession planning, HR department process and workflow analysis, benefits, pension plans, employee assistance programs, corporate policies and employee handbooks, and separation package negotiation.

 

Margot specializes in identifying, creating and implementing human resource systems, programs and policies targeted to attract, motivate and retain organizational talent. Margot has a degree in Psychology from Concordia University, and has completed extensive executive and management training programs at Harvard and Queen's Universities.

A. Michael Hiles

A. Michael Hiles has over 20 years of Human Resource and Compensation experience at both the strategic planning and implementation stages. He has developed compensation, incentive and benefit programs for financial institutions and high tech organizations. As a consultant, Michael has developed compensation and benefits programs for a variety of organizations in the private and public sector. Michael's experience includes all aspects of Human Resource management from guiding management on strategy and policy design, to implementing many forms of Human Resource programs, to performing due diligence studies involved in corporate mergers. Michael has developed systems applications to deliver rewards to employees and to provide management with analysis capacity through HR information systems. He has developed and managed international Human Resource projects, including start-ups in Hong Kong, Brazil, Romania and Eastern Europe, as well as expatriate compensation and management issues. Michael has a Bachelor and Masters degree in Physics from Concordia University and extensive studies in Economics and Accounting at McGill University.

Karen Diaz

Karen Diaz is an Organizational Change Specialist committed to working with clients to plan and facilitate change efforts in order to be successful in today’s and tomorrows competitive environment. Karen has worked in Canada with private and public sector organizations such as: Bell Canada, Cognos, Nortel, SNC Lavalin, Human Resource Development Canada, The Department of Indian Affairs, Veterans Affairs Canada, Transport Canada, Industry Canada, Mohawk Council of Kahnawake, Economic Development Commission of Kahnawake, Literacy Unlimited, Revenue Canada, Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Internationally, she has facilitated training sessions for employees in India, the Russian Federation, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Nicaragua and Honduras.

 

Karen’s experience includes developing and delivering training sessions in the areas of Change Management; Leadership Development; Building a Team Culture; Conflict Resolution; Diversity in the Workplace; organizational development and employee development; Management consulting skills: process consulting, training and development, international development, and implementation of diversity initiatives; Extensive experience in cross-cultural and international contexts with inter-disciplinary teams. (Honduras, Nicaragua, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, India, Romania, Russia Federation and Canada); Implementing training plans; strategic plans, and performance management programs.

 

Karen has an M. Ed degree in Administration and Policy Studies from McGill University. She is presently pursuing her Doctorate degree. She teaches a graduate level course in Trans-cultural Leadership at McGill University. She is a certified trainer for Situational Leadership Il and MBTI.

Patricia Kelly is a human resources generalist with over twenty years’ relevant experience within the international telecommunications field. Her expertise covers a broad range of human resources management including recruitment, compensation/benefits, policies/processes, performance management, employee relations, separation management, internal communications, international relocations and employment conditions/benefits harmonization following company mergers. With her wide experience in all aspects of managing a Human Resources Department, Patricia is well placed to establish efficient and legally compliant human resources functions, or resolve existing human resources issues, within small to medium sized enterprises. Having lived and worked in Europe and North America, Patricia can provide clients with a particular international perspective.

Leslie (Laszlo) Acs is a human resources management consultant with over twenty years of management and human resources experience. His specialties include: workforce development; performance assessment & optimization, motivation & engagement, recruitment & retention; and project management.

 

Leslie began his career in professional services managing software developers during a period of increasing turnover rates and declining organizational commitment. Understanding the importance of maintaining engaged, motivated and loyal team members, Leslie began applying dynamic management practices to successfully cultivate high performance teams. Leslie excels at engaging employees and creating stimulating work environments. He acquired diverse management and human resources experience in both the public and private sectors including: pharmaceutical, biotech, health informatics, manufacturing, education, multimedia, and non-profit.

 

His experience, combined with an ability to rapidly adapt and integrate into any environment, makes Leslie an effective interim HR consultant. Experienced in dealing with the effects of organizational change on corporate culture, Leslie is ideally suited for growing organizations wishing to manage culture change.

 

Leslie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and is completing an M.Sc. in Management at HEC Montréal, where his research interests include the relationship between organizational performance and the work environment.


Ed Fogel

 

Ed Fogel

Ed Fogel has over 20 years of experience in computer program development and e-learning, sales, marketing and sales management. The range of programs he has created is extensive and includes: team games, assessment software, simulations, e-learning, presentation development, workshop development and meeting follow-up software. His programs are generally custom-built to the client's exact specifications or customized for the individual client. He also has a wide array of "off the shelf" software also available for training and development requirements. Most of his programming caters to training and development software and a number of his clients are in the pharmaceutical industry. Programs are built in Flash and are available for online use. Ed has a BSc from University of Alberta. His diverse experience combined with programming skills and an in-depth knowledge of e-learning, have enabled him to develop computer programs for Training, Human Resources, and Continuing Health Education. Internet based programs are a specialty. Ed has been producing customized and proprietary programs that are used internationally.

Amalia Agurcia

Amalia Agurcia is a human resources consultant and has been providing services to AlternaSolutions for the past two years. Her experience includes an array of HR activities such as research on specific HR topics, policy drafting, resume screening and resume preparation, job description preparation, telephone interviews, reference checks, employee survey preparation and performance appraisal forms. Additionally, she is responsible for drafting AlternaSolutions’ blog, newsletter and social media platforms and maintaining AlternaSolutions’ website. As a writing enthusiast, she started her own HR blog, Talentum Emporium, were she discusses trending HR topics.

 

Amalia is trilingual (English, Spanish and French) and has completed a Human Resources Management Certificate at McGill University. She will complete her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources Management at Concordia University next spring.
